It all started when...

George and William Batchelder recognized a growing need for an independent insurance brokerage in Sanford, ME as the area was booming economically in 1874.  At that time manufacturing was big business in Sanford and it was drawing in migrants from around the region.  Along with the economic upswing came a population boom and the two Batchelder brothers were there to help a new class of prosperous working men and woman protect their newly acquired wealth.  Having been in business and part of the community for over 140 years, we still have customers that have been with us for over 50 years!  We are proud to carry the torch for George and William Batchelder and continue to serve the local community.
